In an effort to preserve knowledge for generations to come and create an ownership over intellectual rights for the Maasai people, I had a client who was requesting to have pencil drawings of plants that are used for their medicinal properties according to the Maasai people. With observing photos taken, I had to create drawings that would help someone scientifically identify the plant accurately. The end product will be a field guide that the Maasai people will be able to teach from and have copyright ownership of their traditional herbal medicine.
